Functions of Capital Market Development and Pension Reform Department:

  • To increase the access to finance in the country;
  • To ensure the effective planning of pension reform and its implementation effectively; 
  • To facilitate and ensure putting into operation a financial market, to develop and improve relevant legislation;
  • To respond to the problems/possibilities in capital market and pension system in an effective way;
  • To elaborate strategies and action plans related to capital market development and pension reform in the short, medium and long-term period;
  • To reveal the existing problems and obstacle factors for capital market development of Georgia;
  • To arrange regular meetings with the representatives of capital market and financial sector with the aim of tagging the problematic issues;
  • To analyses the threats regarding pension system and capital market of Georgia, to plan the preventions and their implementation; 
  • To share the experience of the best practice with the aim of facilitating private saving pension system and capital market development; To plan the implementation of decision regarding the problems of capital market and manage implementation process;
  • To reveal existing gaps in legislation of Georgia related to capital market activities and pension reform; 
  • To analyze the needs of amendments in legislation of Georgia related to capital market activities, to consult with the experts of relevant sector, to process the changes of new initiatives;
  • To submit the new legislative initiatives related to capital market and private saving pension reform activities in relevant bodies, to plan and organize the adoption of changes. Within the competence, to ensure the participation of relevant structural subdivision during the elaboration of legislative initiatives.
