National Quality Infrastructure

Law of Georgia “On Certification of Goods and Services” – The law regulates such organized activity or action which is related to general public and includes high risk to human health and life. Besides adoption of obligatory technical requirements to specific products and relations concerning these requirements as well as voluntary standardizations in the field of conformity assessment are regulated by this law. Thus, the law sets legal base for mandatory and voluntary certification of products/services and other objects (hereinafter products) as well as defines rights, obligations and responsibilities of participants in certification.


Decree of the Government of Georgia N965 2010 16 July on adaption of Strategy in Standardisation, Accreditation, Conformity assessment, Technical Regulation and Metrology - The aim of this Document is to create a solid base to further removing technical barriers to trade (TBT), establish a modern technical regulation and quality infrastructure system, and ensure adequate level of human health, life and environment protection.
