Natia Turnava Met Didi Nedzis Kakhati Vilage Population on Gasification

Didi Nedzis Kakhati will be one of the first villages in Samegrelo, where the population will receive natural gas within the three-year gasification program of the Georgian Government. Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava and Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Region Governor, Alexander Motserelia met with the village population and talked about government infrastructural projects.

According to Natia Turnava, in 2019-2021, construction and design works will be carried out in 226 settlements and 210 million GEL will be spent. Third of the settlements is located in Samegrelo region. The gasification plan, initiated by the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, was reviewed and approved by the Government of Georgia. It covers populated areas where natural gas has never been available before.

The meeting focused on the socio-economic issues which the region faces, including the repair of school and kindergarten buildings, small business promotion, etc. Special emphasis was made on the Anaklia Deep Sea Port, which can contribute to the economic development of the region and employment. The Minister told the population that the port of Anaklia is a strategic project and it will be constructed.
