09-07-2019

Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava examined the gasification works in the region of Guria.

Minister inspected the construction works of the pipeline in the villages of Atsana and Chala of Lanchkhuti Municipality. There was no natural gas supply provided to these villages. Within the framework of the project, 38 542 meter pipelines will be installed in both villages and 503 families will have access to the natural gas. The works will be completed in the first half of November of this year and the total cost of the project equals to 1 391 236 GEL.

“We continue implementation of the Government’s three-year plan of gasification and the cost are fully covered from the budget. In total, 3-year plan envisages gasification of 226 new settlements and the gasification level of Georgia will reach 85%. There are very large works in Guria, up to 6000 families will get natural gas and there are settlements where there has never been a natural gas supply before. We will fundamentally change this reality,’ – Natia Turnava, the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development said when examining the gasification process in Guria.

Natia Turnaვა also visited the village of Shroma in the Ozurgeti Municipality. The village is one of those settlements where the population will be gasified in 2019-21, as a result the local population will receive natural gas. The Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Natia Turnava declared it at the meeting with local population.

As a result of gasification of the Shroma Village community (Shroma, Ormeti, Vake, Zedubani, KhrialeTi and Mocvani), the gas pipeline of 95 383 km will provide 1446 (233 in Shroma) households with natural gas. Approximated cost of the project is 5 263 809.

Guria Governor Zurab Nasaraia, Georgian Member of Parliament Nino Tsilosani and Georgian Gas Transportation Company Director Jaba Khmaladze examined the gasification works in Guria together with the Minister.
