First Eastern Partnership Investment Forum Opened in Batumi

First Eastern Partnership Investment Forum was held in Batumi. Prime Minister of Georgia, Mamuka Bakhtadze opened the event by addressing the participants. Delegations from Georgia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Armenia and Azerbaijan as well as senior officials of the European Commission, European Investment Bank and European Reconstruction and Development Bank, Investment Agencies, Business Associations, etc. participated in the 1st Eastern Partnership Investment Forum. In total, the Forum hosted over 400 participants.

“1st Eastern Partnership Investment Forum is an excellent opportunity for us to exchange views on the ways we can promote investment opportunities in Eastern Partnership countries, highlight our expectations and priorities with that regard,’ – the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Natia Turnava stated in her speech at the 1st Eastern Partnership Forum when talking about investment attractiveness of Georgia.

Natia Turnava expressed special gratefulness to the event organizers – thank the Center for European Governance and Economy for selecting Georgia as a ground for conducting the 1st Eastern Partnership Investment Forum.

The Minister highlighted that from Georgia’s perspective, the Eastern Partnership has truly provided an effective framework, which brought my country ever closer to the EU. “Today we are an associated partner of the European Union with the Association Agreement in force and fully operational. We joined the Energy Community and the Trans-European Transport Network. With the concrete results at hand, we are more inspired and committed to do even better” – Natia Turnava said.

1st Eastern Partnership Investment Forum is important since it is another platform for Georgia and other Eastern Partnership countries in terms of economic integration in the EU. In addition, it enables the strengthening of economic ties between the countries participating in the Eastern Partnership.
