“Investors Council is a very important and effective platform for holding a dialogue among the government agencies, businesses and international financial institutions. It's been two years already since it has existed and has been established as a very effective mechanism working on specific issues to make our investment environment even more attractive,” - Natia Turnava told the media representatives after the Investors Council meeting.

According to the Minister, the success achieved in the format of the Investor Council was mentioned at the meeting. As Natia Turnava reports, a number of draft bills have been developed and the Investors Council has expressed a great deal of support in this regard.

“This draft bill concerns the insolvency, which is important for business development, while the draft bill on investment funds was prepared through such cooperation and it will be submitted to the Parliament in the near future,”- the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development stated.

As Natia Turnava estimates, the Investment Council has provided many interesting findings and recommendations for 2020 tourism development plans and strategies; this institution has also greatly assisted the Enterprise Georgia Agency in the process of developing a foreign direct investment strategy involving the International Finance Corporation and the World Bank.

“It was decided that we will cooperate in the formulation and implementation of the energy sector reform using this platform in the same working groups’ mode, because the ongoing reform is of great interest to investors,” - the Minister said.

The Investors Council is one of the most representative bodies in Georgia, bringing together about ten business associations, international financial institutions and diplomats. "This is a very good way for us to work in a specific working mode on any reform, policy or draft bill. We agreed that we will continue and enhance the platform and this cooperation will cover more new areas,” - Natia Turnava said.
