Georgian Soldiers Provided with Facemasks Made in Georgia

Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development organized provision of the Armed Forced of the Ministry of Defense with the multiple-use facemasks produced in Georgia. This deficient product is made in compliance with the standards approved by the Center for Disease Control and the Lugar Laboratory in Georgia. The facemasks are made of gauze and can be used multiple times since they are washable (unlike polypropylene facemasks).

The masks have been distributed to the Georgians over 70 with chronic diseases, patrol police representatives and other public servants who has daily communication with various community groups. Facemask were provided to the staff of those hotels that host the quarantine zones upon the decision of the Government and in compliance with the standards approved by the Center for Disease Control. However, the process of transferring facemasks will continue in the future.

Following the decision of the Inter-Agency Coordination Council on Coronavirus and organized by the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, Georgia started producing deficient hygiene product - facemasks. There are currently 10 enterprises involved in the program.
