Natia Turnava at New Sartichala-3 Poultry Complex Opening Ceremony

Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development attended the opening of the new poultry complex Sartichala-3. Natia Turnava inspected the enterprise together with the Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture, Levan Davitashvili and the State Representative in Kvemo Kartli, Shota Rekhviashvili.

Poultry complex Sartichala-3 is a new enterprise of the company Chirina, which is a beneficiary of the programs Produce in Georgia and Preferential Agro Credit. Construction of the complex was launched in 2019 and was completed in 2020. Within this complex, the Chirina Ltd will produce additional 600 tons of meat monthly. The complex consists of 14 farmhouses equipped with the modern technology, the volume of investment equals to 35 million GEL. Over 50 people will be employed there.

The Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development congratulated the company’s management and employees, as well as the whole society on the establishment of the new enterprise.

“Our task is to have our market supplied with our own production, this company as well as the poultry industry in Georgia in general, have all the potential for that. We will support even more this type of production in order to supply our customers with local high-quality products,” – Natia Turnava.

The Chirina was established in 2010 and is on the leading position since starting supplying of the market in 2013. It has been 7 years since the frozen and raw chicken products of the Biu Biu brand are available on the Georgian market on a daily basis and are also in great demand in the neighbouring countries. In recent years, the Chirina has been gradually increasing poultry production, replacing imported frozen chicken with high-quality locally produced meat.
