28-10-2020

The Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Natia Turnava, got acquainted with the process of the three-year gasification plan in Imereti region.

Natia Turnava personally congratulated the local population of the village of Gogna in Terjola Municipality and of the Kvemo Kldeeti village in Zestaponi Municipality on the successful completion of the gasification project in their villages. Zviad Shalamberidze, State Representative in the Imereti Region, Mikheil Shalamberidze, the General Director of the Gas Transportation Company and Azer Mammadov, Director of SOCAR Georgia Gas, inspected the completed works together with the Minister.

205 residents of the Gogna village have been provided with natural gas, for which the gas pipeline of 20,456 meters was built. As for the village of Kvemo Kldeeti in Zestaponi Municipality, 216 subscribers of the village have already been provided with natural gas.
Totally, 5 settlements and up to 900 families have been supplied with natural gas since 2013 in Terjola Municipality.

21 settlements have been supplied with natural gas and up to 7,000 customers have been provided with access to natural gas in Zestaponi Municipality since 2013. Currently, the construction works required for gasification are underway in two settlements, where up to 200 subscribers will be able to use natural gas.

Within the framework of Georgia’s 2019-2021 Gasification Action Plan, 384 settlements will be fully gasified and the gasification rate in the country will be 90%.

According to Natia Turnava, since there are the settlements that have not still been supplied with natural gas, it is important that under the government's decision, this program will continue - the next three-year program will be implemented in 2022-24, within which, another 211 settlements will be gasified and, by the end of 2024, about 600 towns and villages of Georgia will receive natural gas.
