A working meeting with the representatives of the restaurant and delivery sectors was held in coordination with the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, which was chaired by the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Irakli Nadareishvili. Acting Business Ombudsman Nino Kvetenadze also attended the meeting.

Representatives of both sectors explained in details the challenges they face following the restrictions imposed during the pandemic.

The Ministry of Economy confirmed its readiness to continue cooperation with the representatives of the sectors in order to achieve best solutions.

According to Irakli Nadareishvili, the restaurant business is one of the areas that has been particularly affected by the restrictions imposed due to the pandemic. The state provided support to this industry by co-financing the interest on loans that is already underway. At the same time, since their operation today is limited only to the delivery service, it is extremely important to provide uninterrupted delivery service in full coordination with the delivery industry.

“The Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development organized a coordination meeting where both industries briefed each other on topical issues. It is very important to resolve all the issues on the agenda rapidly. The Ministry, within its competence, will support them as much as possible and help to resolve the issues, which both industries are facing at this stage,” – Irakli Nadareishvili, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, stated after the meeting.
