DCFTA Advisory Group Eighth Session Held

The eighth session of the DCFTA Advisory Group was held online by the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, which was co-chaired by Genadi Arveladze, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, and Giorgi Kacharava, Deputy Chairman of the EU-Georgia Business Council.

The main topic of the meeting was the discussion of the draft DCFTA Implementation Action Plan for 2021-2023 developed by the Ministry and the agencies involved in the implementation of the DCFTA. After the presentation, the participants discussed the suggestions and comments of the group members.

The meeting of the Advisory Group also discussed various proposals, emphasizing the need for measures to involve more Georgian companies in the European Entrepreneurs Network (EEN). Business associations have expressed readiness to intensify cooperation in this direction.

The representative of the EU-Georgia Business Council informed the members of the group about the establishment of a logistics hub in Romania, in particular, in the city of Constanta, where the container kit exported from Georgia will be collected and distributed. The logistics hub will be launched on January 15 and will significantly support the export of Georgian companies to EU countries. Detailed information will be sent to the Group Members.

Representatives of the Georgian Employers’ Association, the Georgian Trade Union Confederation, the EU-Georgia Business Council, the Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the European Business Association and the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum - the Georgian National Platform participated in the online session.
