Natia Turnava Met with Representatives of Gym Hall Owners

Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava held a working meeting with the representatives of the companies that own the gyms. According to the decision of the Coordinating Council of the Government, from March 15, the gyms will be able to resume functioning in accordance with the established regulations.

Beka Peradze, Head of the Labor Inspection of the Ministry of Health and Irakli Nadareishvili, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development also participated in the meeting.

The participants of the meeting discussed the regulations that will be developed specifically for the gyms to make their operation as safe as possible for the users and the staff. Regulations will be developed in strict compliance with Covid-19 protocols based on international experience.

Business representatives also focused on the various challenges that arise from the suspension of their activities. It was noted that the Government is working to address these challenges.

As the Ministernoted, the most important thing that emerged from the meeting is that these companies and their managers are ready to shape the public perception of fitness as one of the most covid-free and safe fields. According to Natia Turnava, everything is ready, including the electronic platform required for protocols, responsibility sharing and mandatory testing, so that gyms can host their users safely.
