Natia Turnava Held Meeting with MEDEF International Delegation

Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava met with the delegation of the MEDEF International, the largest business association in France.

French delegation consisted of the representatives of over 20 companies that are interested in potential investment projects in Georgia. Companies represented in the delegation operate in the fields of tourism, IT, energy, infrastructure, construction, engineering, agriculture, etc.

Georgian side informed the participants of the meeting about the positive business climate and investment potential in Georgia. The meeting was held in a discussion mode and the Minister of Economy Sustainable Development and the heads of the various agencies within the Ministry answered the questions by the representatives of French companies.

Minister Turnava noted that Georgia has traditionally been an attractive investment market for French companies. According to Turnava, this is confirmed by the fact that today there are over 350 companies with French capital operating in Georgia, and France is the seventh largest investor among the European countries.

According to the Minister, there are larger prospects, which is confirmed by the high interest and the French delegation visiting Georgia, who arrived to explore new opportunities. “We have introduced new investment projects, especially projects related to the digitalization, new technologies, startups, as well as tourism development, energy and many other areas. We are sure that many interesting new initiatives will be formed through the cooperation between French and Georgian businesses,” – the Minister of Sustainable Development commented.
