Natia Turnava: We discussed the prospects of cooperation and the usage of Georgia’s transit infrastructure with the National Oil Company of the Emirates

Within the framework of the visit of the Georgian Government delegation to the United Arab Emirates, a meeting was held with the leaders of the National Oil Company of the United Arab Emirates (ENOC). The delegation included Vice Prime Minister Levan Davitashvili, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava, as well as representatives of various government agencies.

“This is an oil and petroleum products trader, one of the largest companies in the world, which, in general, has an important player in the energy sector. The company is interested in our corridor and, therefore, we talked about the prospects of cooperation,” – Natia Turnava commented.

National Oil Company of the United Arab Emirates (ENOC) has been under the control of the Dubai Government since its inception. The company’s business interests include oil and gas exploration, refining and trade, terminal services, and trade of the aviation and lubricant materials.

Prospects of further cooperation, which envisages the use of Georgia’s transit infrastructure for the export of the company’s oil products to the European market was also discussed. It was noted that the parties will continue to work on this issue aiming at exploring new directions of future commercial cooperation.
