Levan Davitashvili Met with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, Péter Szijjártó

Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Levan Davitashvili held a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, Péter Szijjártó.

Representatives of the Governments of the two countries discussed in detail the growing dynamics of trade and economic ties between Georgia and Hungary and the potential that will allow the development of even deeper relations between the two countries.

As it was mentioned, Hungary considers Georgia as an important partner. Special emphasis was placed on trade relations, where increasing Georgian exports to the Hungarian market remains a priority. According to Péter Szijjártó, Hungary actively supports the deepening of the partnership between Georgian and Hungarian companies and is ready to support joint business projects.

The parties also expressed readiness to hold a meeting of the Georgian-Hungarian Economic Cooperation Commission in the nearest future. The importance of the operation of the Hungarian low-budget airline Wizz Air for the development of the Georgian aviation and tourism market was also discussed at the meeting.

Levan Davitashvili spoke in detail with his Hungarian counterpart about Georgia’s economic policy and the priorities for increasing Georgian exports to foreign markets, especially in European countries, and further development of trade relations. According to the Vice Prime Minister, despite the recently emerged high risks in the region, Georgia remains an attractive investment partner for investors.

Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Genadi Arveladze, Ambassador of Georgia to Hungary Zaal Gogsadze and Head of the Department of Trade Development and International Economic Relations Tarash Papaskua also attended the meeting.
