Mariam Kvrivishvili, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, and Peter Fischer, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Georgia, spoke about the relations and future prospects of cooperation between the two countries at a meeting held at the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, which was also attended by the head of the National Tourism Administration, Maya Omiadze, and the Deputy Head of the Administration, Tamar Koriauli.

Mariam Kvrivishvili highlighted that along with other important issues, the parties discussed the preparations for the international tourism exhibition - ITB Berlin, planned for March 2023, where Georgia will be presented as the host country.

As the Deputy Minister noted, there are traditionally friendly, business relations and active cooperation in various fields between Georgia and Germany. Kvrivishvili also emphasized that Germany is the country that Georgia has the greatest number of flights - four airlines fly here in seven directions, which is especially important for tourism.

“We think that the status of the host country of ITB Berlin will further contribute to the growth of tourist flows from the Federal Republic of Germany as well as from the whole Europe” –  Mariam Kvrivishvili commented.
