Dimitry Kumsishvili - Adjara Textile will contribute to significant increase of new enterprise export potential

“The new enterprise of high standards and technologies of the Adjara Textile will allow us to significantly increase the export and create additional jobs. Gradually, 3 thousand people will be employed in the new enterprise,” – the First Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Dimitry Kumsishvili stated at the opening of a new enterprise of the Adjara Textile in Poti.

“Today we have opened an enterprise equipped with high standards and technologies where 3,000 people will be employed. As of today, 25 million GEL has already been invested, which will be followed with additional 15 million GEL investment until the completion. In total, 40 million GEL investment will be implemented for the project,” –  Dimitry Kumsishvili stated.

According to the Minister, last year, the export rate of textile from Georgia was up to $90 million, which is certainly growing.

“This is a new and very important direction for creating new jobs in our country,” – the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development noted.

The new enterprise of the Adjara Textile was opened in Poti with the support of state program Enterprise Georgia. 

The first Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Dimitry Kumsishvili opened the new enterprise today. The founder of the Adjara Textile, Jemal Bilgingullouglu and the Regional Director of Nike Ema, Caner Soitas also attended the event.

The new enterprise of the Adjara Textile will supply such large brands as New Balance and Under Armour.
