Dimitry Kumsishvili at Hotel Ramada Encore Tbilisi Opening

 “Hotel Ramada Encore Tbilisi is one of the best examples of cooperation between the state and the private sector – the case when the process is planned perfectly and therefore, we are getting successful results,” – the First Vice Prime Minister of Georgia, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Dimitri Kumsishvili stated at the Hotel Ramada Encore Tbilisi opening ceremony.

According to Dimitry Kumsishvili, at the end of 2014 an open auction with the investment liabilities was announced requesting at least 150-room hotel construction and investment of at least 25 million GEL.

“Today we have 152-room hotel in which 14 million dollars have been invested. At this point, there are 100 people employed in the hotel, but in the future the company “m2 real estate” plans to increase the number of employers and continue to build hotels,” – the First Vice Prime Minister noted.

According to Dimitri Kumsishvili, development and promotion of tourism is one of the priority directions of the Georgian Government and the results are quite impressive.

“In 2017, we received over seven million international visitors, while 3 million 400 thousand of them were tourists. The nearest goal is to receive 11 million international visitors. This encourages us to implement new investments and this is the driving force for investors and our country,” – First Vice Prime Minister, the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development said.

It should be noted that in 2015-2017, over 200 accommodation facilities were opened in Georgia, with more than 13 700 beds. In 2018-2019, in is scheduled to open 220 accommodation facilities with over 22 200 beds.

Hotel Ramada Encore Tbilisi is the “m2 Real Estate” project. The construction of the hotel was funded by the International Finance Corporation IFC, which is a member of the World Bank Group, the largest international institution focused on promoting the private sector of developing countries.
