Meeting with Representatives of International Consultancy Company – McKinsey&Company

First Vice Prime Minister of Georgia, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Dimitry Kumsishvili held a meeting with the representatives of the international consultancy company – McKinsey&Company, and discussed the main directions of the Georgia’s energy sector development strategy. 

Significant components of the strategy, including the internal growth and rational use of the energy resources, facilitation of the sector in order to establish the country as regional hub for the electricity trade and improvement of the long-term improvement of electricity export-import balance were discussed during the meeting.

The dialogue also focused on such issues as ensuring long-term security of the electric power system, challenges for formation and development of power markets, development of renewable energy sources, etc.

Deputy Ministers of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Ekaterine Mikabadze, Giorgi Chikovani and Romeo Mikautadze as well as the General Director of the Georgian State Electrosystem, Sulkhan Zumburidze also attended the meeting.
