“Distribution of Georgia-made facemasks has begun according to priorities where security is particularly important. The particular risk-groups include people over 70, public servants in contact with quarantine zones, the police, and various categories of employees that serve the population on a daily basis. Today we have begun delivering of the facemasks in the commercial sector as well, according to our priorities, and to the employees of the grocery stores in the primary order,” – Natia Turnava said during the visit to hypermarket Goodwill, where she attended the process of distributing the facemasks made in Georgia.

As Natia Turnava told reporters, the Georgian facemasks, which are manufactured in several industries, will be distributed according to priorities until massive production, which depends on raw materials and is likely to be launched soon. “At this stage, the priorities for delivering facemasks depend on being in touch with other people and the need of protection against the spread of the virus. They include grocery store employees – cashiers, consultants and so on, who will deliver the reusable Georgian facemasks with their instruction and wish everyone good health,” – the Minister of Economy said,

According to Natia Turnava, the facemasks produced in Georgia will be distributed among not only the large grocery stores but also among small shops and the Association of Small and Medium shops will assist the Ministry in the process. “This organization brings together 780 small grocery shops. It has over 2000 employees in the sector. We need to take care of their health and of course their consumers’ health,” – Natia Turnava added.
