Electricity Subsidy Program for Food Manufacturers

For entrepreneurial entities producing certain categories of food, the State will subsidize the 50% of the difference between the electricity consumption tariff of 2021 and the electricity consumer tariff of 2020.

The relevant decree on the rules and conditions of partial subsidy of electricity tax has already entered into force following the ordinance by the Prime Minister of Georgia, Giorgi Gakharia.

The subsidy applies to entrepreneurial entities operating in the following sectors:

Poultry; Meat processing and canning; Processing and canning of poultry meat; Production of meat products; Processing and canning of fish, crustaceans and molluscs; Processing and canning of potato; Processing and canning other types of fruit and vegetable; Production of oil products and fats; Production of margarine and similar edible fats; Processing of milk and production of dairy products; Production of flour-cereal products; Production of starches and starch products; Production of bread, baked goods, cakes, pastries and similar products; Production of biscuits and dry cakes; Production of pasta, atria, couscous and similar baked goods; Sugar production; Production of spices and condiments; Production of homogenized food preparations and dietary food products; Production of ready-made nourish for farm and pets.

Entrepreneurs willing to apply from partial subsidies during 13-27 January, 2021 must fill the application on the electronic platform:   https://registration.gov.ge/electricity 

Entrepreneurs who are subject to a partial subsidy and have paid/will have to pay for electricity consumed by 2021, the amount paid will be reflected on the personal subscription card. However, partial subsidies should not be used to cover debts incurred by an entrepreneur before January 1, 2021
