Within the visit to the United States, the First Vice Prime Minister held a meeting at the White House with the US President’s Special Assistant and Senior Director in the National Security Council for European Affairs, Andrew L. Peek.

Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Genadi Arveladze also participated in the meeting.

“The meeting held at the White House was particularly and exceptionally important and promising that was held within the framework of the visit to the United States. It was very important to discuss with the new administration the priorities that the Georgian Dream government has and which are fully in line with President Trump’s views, and I think that given the very close alignment of positions, there are many prospects for cooperation. We talked about the opportunities that our two countries may have under the new administration,” – the First Vice Prime Minister stated after the meeting.

Levan Davitashvili noted that it is regrettable that during the previous administration, the strategic partnership agreement between the two countries was formally suspended. “There is a very firm position within the leadership of the new administration that this strategic cooperation should not only continue but also deepen further and move to a qualitatively new stage, which will be practically beneficial for both countries,” – the First Vice Prime Minister explained.

Within the framework of the visit, the First Vice Prime Minister also held meetings at the US Department of State, the Departments of Commerce and the Treasury, and the Office of the Trade Representative, as well as with top management representatives of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.
