Natia Turnava Discussed Current Challenges with Georgian Business Associations

The challenges that Georgia’s business faces today and the ways to address them were discussed by the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava and the heads of the various business associations in Georgia. The meeting held at the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development and was attended by the Government Administration Representative Beka Liluashvili, the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Giorgi Pertaia, the Deputy Business Ombudsman Levan Kalandadze, and other officials.

The purpose of the meeting was to get familiar with the problematic issues that the business circles find of uppermost importance and priority.  

The Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development said that it was important for the Government to identify the challenges that bothers the business most so that they could be resolved in a timely manner. According to Natia Turnava, the Prime Minister’s instruction is to intensify communication with the business and the certain priorities will be discussed at the following meetings, which will be attended by the representatives of other government agencies as well.

The meeting also focused on the ways of enhancing the engagement of the business in the process of alteration business activity regulatory normative basis. The issue of protracted business disputes in the courts of common law and other topical issues was also covered during the conversation.
