Giorgi Kobulia Examined Georgian State Electro System

Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Giorgi Kobulia and Deputy Minister of Economy, Nino Enukidze visited the Georgian State Electro System today, where they examined the current situation in the system, as well as the ongoing and planned projects in the company.

“We discussed a 10-year long fundamental plan of development that will help us to bring full stability to the Georgian energy system,” – Giorgi Kobulia declared after the visit.

In addition, according to the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, the development plan will also provide all newly built hydro and thermal power plants.

“As a result of this we will be absolutely guaranteed by our own power in the nearest future, and it will also be a very important installment in the economic growth program of Georgia,” – the Minister added.

Giorgi Kobulia and Nino Enukidze received information from Sulkhan Zumburidze, the manager of the rehabilitation of GSE and discussed the projects that are meant to be launched this year and will be implemented in the next few years. As Sulkhan Zumburidze noted, these projects are aimed at establishing internal stability of Georgia in terms of driving the country to be a regional hub.

The heads of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development also examined the National Dispatch Center of Georgia's Energy System and visited the newly installed shield of management system. The management shield, which is equipped with the latest technologies is the first in the Caucasus region, it is responsible for the operational management of the power system, which in its turn is implemented by SCADA system. The guests listened to the presentation of Sulkhan Zumburidze, the CEO of rehabilitation of GSE, during which they were able to get updated on the current activities, as well as implemented and future projects of the company.
