Giorgi Kobulia Met Georgian Tourism Sector Representatives

“Number of tourists in Georgia is increasing. In January-July 2018, it was increased by more than 20%. Our goal is to improve the quality of the tourism services in line with the increase of the tourists,” – Georgi Kobulia, the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia stated following the meeting with Georgian tourism sector representatives.

Giorgi Chogovadze, the Head of the LEPL National Tourism Administration of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development also attended the meeting.

Challenges of the sector and relevant solutions were discussed at the meeting with the representatives of tourism associations and tour operators.

Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development evaluated the meeting with the representatives of the tourism sector as beneficial for the sides. “They shared their ideas and opinions and we are going to act according to their recommendations on many ways,” – Giorgi Kobulia stated. The meeting focused on such issues as the development of professional training for tourism sector, facilitation of taxation of travel companies, regulation of tourist transport, etc.
