Otar Danelia Appointed as First Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development

Otar Danelia has been appointed at the position of the First Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia. He will lead the activities of such structural subdivisions as the LEPL National Agency for State Property and the National Agency of Mines.

Otar Danelia held leading positions in various government agencies in different years. In line with other positions, in 2014-2016, he was the Minister of Agriculture, and in 2016-2020 - a member of the Parliament of Georgia of the 9th convocation and the Chairman of the Committee on Agrarian Issues. Prior to his appointment as the First Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Otar Danelia held the position of the Head of the National Agency of Mines.

Otar Danelia is an alumnus of the Iv. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, majoring in International Relations and Diplomacy and also holds a Master of Business Administration degree in the Information Technology from the European School of Management - ESM (Georgia) - and an Executive MMA from the Cambridge International College - Master of Management In the direction of analytics). He also graduated from the ECA Academy (USA), Harvard 2020 Professional Development Program - Promoting Business Continuity in Crisis.

Otar Danelia is the author and initiator of 56 legal acts, including: the Organic Law on Agricultural Land Ownership; the Law of Georgian on Wine and Vine; the Law of Georgia on Agro-Tourism, and the Amendments to the Code of Local Self-Government.
