Romeo Mikautadze, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, introduced Giorgi Gigineishvili, the new head of the JSC Georgian State Electrosystem to the Members of the Board of the GSE.
According to the Deputy Minister, Giorgi Gigineishvili has extensive experience in operating power generation facilities and building a transmission network. He has held leading positions in major energy companies at various times.
Romeo Mikautadze also thanked the former head of the company, Ucha Uchaneishvili for his work.
JSC Georgian State Electric System is the only electricity transmission system operator in Georgia. The company owns and operates 3,550km throughout Georgia. Long power lines and 93 substations, while the transmission network is operated by the National Dispatch Center.
Georgian State Electrosystem is the first state-owned enterprise to start the corporatization process in order to bring its corporate governance system in line with international standards. The main task of the reform is to create a strong and independent management system so that the Georgian State Electrosystem can attract financial resources to both local and foreign financial markets without state assistance.
