Levan Davitashvili Met with Israeli Ambassador to Georgia, Hadas Ester Meitzad

Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Israel to Georgia, Hadas Ester Meitzad.

Deputy Minister of Economy, Genadi Arveladze and Head of Trade Development and International Economic Relations Department, Givi Zedelashvili also attended the meeting.

Georgia-Israel partnership in line with the priority directions of cooperation and future prospects were discussed and outlined during the meeting.

Vice Prime Minister congratulated the Ambassador on the successful parliamentary elections in Israel and expressed hope that after the formation of the new Israeli government, bilateral cooperation will be even more productive.

Centuries-long ties between the two countries and future priorities were specially emphasized. It was said that in 2022, bilateral trade turnover has increased, however, the potential for further increase is greater on both sides. It was noted that in order to develop and deepen the bilateral trade between Georgia and Israel and to establish Georgian products on the Israeli market, a feasibility study on free trade agreement between the two countries has already been conducted.

Attention was also focused on cooperation in such sectors as transport, energy, tourism, civil aviation, etc.
