Levan Davitashvili Met with Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Lithuania, Dainius Kreivys

Within the working visit to the Republic of Lithuania, Vice Prime Minister of Georgia, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Levan Davitashvili met with the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Lithuania, Dainius Kreivys.

Importance of diversified sources of energy resources in terms of strengthening the country’s energy security was the focus of the conversation.

Levan Davitashvili informed his Lithuanian colleague about the energy market liberalization reform, which will contribute to the competitive and proper development of the country’s energy sector, attracting additional investments and creating new energy capacities.

New renewable energy support scheme developed by the Government of Georgia, which should encourage private investments in the energy sector was also covered during the conversation.
As it was noted at the meeting, Georgia and Lithuania will continue cooperation in the energy sector, including in term of use of renewable energy sources.
