Mariam Kvrivishvili Met with Tourism Industry Representatives

Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili and Head of the National Tourism Administration, Maya Omiadze presented the results of the three quarters of 2023, as well as the current projects and future planned activities, to the representatives of the tourism industry in the tourism and civil aviation sectors.
Representatives of hotels, tourism companies, associations, as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs participated in the meeting.

During the conversation, special emphasis was placed on the development of the resort zones and the strengthening of the infrastructure of the mountain-ski resorts. According to the information of the Deputy Minister, in 2024, important events will be held in the country, among which the Skiing World Cups and the hosting of the 2024 World Tourism Day will be held.

“I am confident that with joint efforts, our country’s tourism industry will continue to be one of the fastest growing in the world, bringing more revenue from the tourism industry to the country’s economy. Through the close cooperation with the private sector, even more jobs will be created in the country, which will have a positive impact on the strengthening of small and medium-sized entrepreneurs of our country,” – Mariam Kvrivishvili said at the meeting.

It was noted that in 2024, the National Tourism Administration will start an active campaign to promote wine and Georgian cuisine. An influencer activation project is also planned, within the framework of which influencers will share their experience about Georgia through social networks.

It was noted that the Tourism Administration of Georgia plans to activate marketing activities in the tourist market of the European Union, Scandinavia, the Gulf countries, the USA, China, India and Japan. In addition, next year, the National Tourism Administration will participate in 21 tourism exhibitions, organize digital marketing campaigns, host international media representatives and bloggers, and conduct introductory tours for international tourism companies. In order to promote business tourism, 10 events will be held, including a large-scale M&I Forum in Tbilisi. Georgia will be the host country of the World Tourism Day in 2024.
