Levan Davitashvili Opened Conference – Trends and Challenges of Resorts Sustainable Development

Under the chair of the Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili, another session of the "Private Partnership Selection Commission for the Implementation of the Public-Private Cooperation Project of the New Anaklia Deep Sea Port" was held in the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development.

The interagency commission discussed and approved the documents for the invitation to submit proposals (RFP) to the qualified candidates. The mentioned documentation includes both the invitation document for the presentation of the proposal and the drafts of the concession and partner agreements.

The document was developed by the LLP Anaklia Deep Sea Port Development Agency" with the participation of international consultants of the Agency, namely, a legal consultant Squire Patton Boggs, a commercial consultant - Maritime Transport & Business Solutions (MTBS) and a technical consultant - Port Consultants Rotterdam.
The document provides project-specific features and information related to assets/property. It also includes the following issues - instructions for submission of proposals by qualified candidates; content of the documentation to be presented; information on timelines related to the selection process and evaluation criteria (both commercial/technical, financial and legal criteria). In addition, the document provides for the guarantee of the proposal presented by the candidates, its amount, form, term, its basic conditions and the grounds of execution.

Drafts of concession and partner agreements offered by the state will also be sent to the candidates - they will be subject to negotiations with the winning or shortlisted candidate at a later stage.

At the end of the session of the commission, a protocol was signed by the chairman of the commission - the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development and the members of the commission - Minister of Finance, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure, Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia.


According to the decision of the commission, qualified candidates were given a deadline until February 19 to submit their proposals. The commission, through international consultants, will evaluate the submitted proposals and identify the winner, with whom negotiations will be held on relevant agreements.
