Basic legislation, rules and guidelines for investigation of Maritime Accidents and Incidents

Bureau is guided by  the following state legislation: 

• Maritime Code
• Law of Georgia On Management and Regulation of the Field of Transport
• “Regulation on  the civil aviation and maritime transport accident/incident investigation bureau” (Order of the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development № 1-1/1897 2012 November 22) 
• "Maritime accident/Incident  investigation procedure" (Order of the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development № 1-1/183 2013. July 15)  
• Appendix 1 - Table of categories marine incidents / accidents
• Appendix 2 - Masters/Ship owners Report on Marine Accident/Casualty 
• Appendix 3 -guidance  for maritime incident / accident investigation report
• Appendix 4 - notification form

In addition to local legislation also uses the international  maritime conventions, codes, regulations, directives and best practice.
