Genadi Arveladze Met with Saudi Arabia Parliamentary Delegation

Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Genadi Arveladze held a meeting with the members of parliamentary friendship group of Saudi Arabia’s Majlis Al-Shura (Parliament).

The main directions of trade and economic cooperation between Georgia and Saudi Arabia were discussed at the meeting. The Parties confirm to ensure efforts to make close ties between the business circles of the both countries and to arrange trade and business missions in Georgia as well as in Saudi Arabia.

Georgian delegation provided detailed information on the sectors of the economy, which are especially attractive for investment. The guests expressed special interest in the information. Cooperation in terms of investment was also under the focus of the conversation.

Cooperation in the field of tourism received positive assessment. In particular, it was noted that in 2018, 51,879 visitors from Saudi Arabia arrived in Georgia, which is by 14% higher number compared to the same period of 2017. It should be noted that this indicator is characterized by the growth dynamics since 2013.

Launching of regular direct flights between Georgia and Saudi Arabia was also discussed at the meeting.
