10th Session on Georgia-Kazakhstan Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation

Within the frames of the visit of the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia to Kazakhstan, the protocol of the 10th Session of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between Georgia and Kazakhstan has been signed. Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Natia Turnava and the Minister of Industry and Infrastructure of the Republic of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar signed the document.

“We have discussed many strategic issues, including the development of the concept of so called “middle corridor” as well as the tariffs, which will make the cargo shipment easier via the above mentioned corridor and better introduce the transit function of our countries,” – the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Natia Turnava stated.

According to Natia Turnava, both Georgia and Kazakhstan play an important role in attracting cargo flows from China to Europe via the Black and Caspian seas. “We have also discussed the intensification of ferry traffic on the Black and Caspian seas, as it is a part of the “middle corridor”,” – the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development noted. The 10th Session of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation also focused on such important issues as agriculture, bilateral trade, tourism, etc.
