Genadi Arveladze at Georgia-Lebanese Business Forum

Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Genadi Arveladze opened the Georgia-Lebanese Business Forum, organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Georgia and Georgia-Lebanese Chamber of Commerce. Within the framework of the event, up to 40 Lebanese companies visited Georgia representing such sectors as tourism, real estate, financial sector and consumer goods manufacturing. President of the Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Nino Chikovani delivered a speech at the forum.

Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia emphasized Georgia’s economic trends and favorable investment environment. According to Genadi Arveladze, Georgia is the 6th country by the World Bank business rankings and the third - in terms of tax burden, which makes Georgia an exceptionally attractive country for international investments. He also emphasized the country’s favorable geographical location since it is the shortest transport corridor between Europe and Asia.

“We offer stability to the stakeholders and sustainable economic growth, which is a key factor in turning the country into a regional hub for doing business. Important regional infrastructure and energy projects are being implemented in Georgia. Therefore, all these possibilities can become a guarantee of deepening and strengthening of Georgia-Lebanese trade and economic cooperation,” – the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development stated.
Genadi Arveladze offered the Lebanese side to arrange trade missions, business forums and fairs for further deepening of trade and economic relations between the countries.

The Deputy Minister emphasized on the Lebanese Chamber of Labor, initiated by the Lebanese side. He said that the association will facilitate the cooperation of companies in the two countries, increase investments and deepen links between our countries. “We should study opportunities and sectors where we can further develop our economic cooperation,” – Genadi Arveladze said.

Lebanon’s official delegation was headed by the Lebanese Tourism Minister, as well as Lebanon's non-resident ambassador and business associations. In the final part of the event, bilateral meetings were held between the Lebanon and Georgian companies.
