Natia Turnava Introduced Priorities of Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development to Sector Economy and Economic Policy Committee Members

Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Natia Turnava, introduced the new priorities of the Ministry as well as the information on ongoing and upcoming reforms to the members of the Sector Economy and Economic Policy Members of the Georgian Parliament. 

The Minister emphasized such important directions as poverty reduction, quick and efficient solutions in the investment policy, strengthening regional approaches, supporting Georgian production and providing economic prosperity to every citizen of the country.

“We have chosen two priorities from the issues that are of great interest not only among the members of the Committee but among our population. The first priority deals with the biggest challenge – overcoming poverty in line with high, stable economic growth and macroeconomic environment and the relevant steps we are to take for inclusive growth. The second priority is higher efficiency, better coordinated investment policy, faster, transparent and more effective decisions for investors and businesses,” – Natia Turnava said.

The Minister also talked about the large public projects, such as gasification, access to the Internet, provision of electricity to the settlements not having access to it, electricity transmission network development 10-year plan and strengthening of Georgia’s role in the South Caucasus Rregional transit corridor. 

After the presentation, the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development addressed the questions of the Members of Parliament.
