The Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Davit Tvalabeishvili, delivered a welcome speech at the conference. Prior to the event, the conference participants viewed the stands represented  within the framework of Elcomm Caucasus 2019 - the International Exhibition of Power Industry and Electrical Engineering.

The exhibition and conference was opened with the participation of the high-profile guests and delegates from both the government and private sectors. “We will discuss the challenges related to the renewable energy sources that are available in the country and the region, as well as modern technologies, including mechanisms for solar power generation and other new developments. Therefore, today's conference will be very interesting and productive,” - Davit Tvalabeishvili told the media representatives.

The Deputy Minister also stressed the importance of renewable energies for Georgia and the ongoing reforms in this regard.

“The Parliament will complete discussions on the draft law on the Renewable Energy Production and Promotion and will adopt it in the near future. Within the framework of the law, in the following year the Government of Georgia will establish specific support mechanisms in all areas, including the construction of wind and solar power stations. These will be the mechanisms that will enable us to widely introduce these technologies to Georgia, of course, within the framework of our system. I think, today's meeting will give us a great deal of information on the basis of which we will set up our plans for the next two or three years,” - Davit Tvalabeishvili said.
