“France is an important political, trading and economic partner country of Georgia, which promotes our country's integration into European and Euro-Atlantic structures. Within the framework of the French-Georgian Dimitri Amilakhvari dialogue, we will cooperate on four priority areas, including trade and economy. Thus, at the business council meeting held within the framework of this dialogue, we discussed the significant issues that concern not only bilateral trade, but also an increase in the volume of investments, cooperation in the fields of transport, energy, tourism, tourism infrastructure construction, processing industry and other sectors,” – the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Genadi Arveladze said at the meeting of the French-Georgian Dimitri Amilakhvari dialogue, which was held under the MEDEF International French-Georgian business council meeting.

In his speech, Genadi Arveladze briefed the Board members on Georgia's economic trends, ongoing and planned reforms, as well as the dynamics of fulfilling its obligations taken under the European Union Association Agreement. According to him, Georgia is actively harmonizing the legislative framework (including the introduction of technical regulations on a number of industrial products) with European standards.

 “The quality Georgian products is less known in France. By working with you, we want to make our participation in trade missions, exhibitions and organizing business forums more intense. We need to help our entrepreneurs become more familiar with each other’s abilities and engage in a more successful dialogue that will ultimately increase investment, create new jobs and positively impact the country's economic strength,” - the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development said.

Genadi Arveladze emphasized the fruitful cooperation with the French side in terms of the development of mountain resorts in Georgia. He said that France, as a country with the leading mountain-ski resorts worldwide, can share a tremendous experience with Georgia, which has a great ambition and ability to develop mountain resort areas in the country and attract both local and international tourists.

The meeting also touched upon the preparatory works for the Freestyle Ski and Snowboarding World Championships scheduled for 2023 in Bakuriani, envisaging the implementation of numerous infrastructure projects. The representatives of French companies expressed their interest in the development of agriculture, pharmacy, tourism and mountain resorts in Georgia.

The Georgian participants provided the French Company officials with a detailed information on the potential of the Tskaltubo resort area and planned infrastructure projects.

The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Khatia Tsilosani, the Director of the LEPL Produce in Georgia of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mikheil Khadureli, the Deputy Tbilisi Mayor, Maia Bitadze and other officials participated in the meeting.

During the visit, the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Genadi Arveladze also held an official meeting with the Deputy Head of the Department of Bilateral Economic Relations of the Directorate General of the Treasury and Economic Policy of France's Economy and Finance Ministries, Christopher Bohr and talked about the development of bilateral trade and economic relations with him.
