Natia Turnava Visited Surgical Wear Manufacturing Company – Doctor Goods

Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Natia Turnava, visited the Doctor Goods, a company that produces medical overalls and gowns.

The Minister got familiar with the production process of the surgical kit, surgical gowns and surgical overalls.

Natia Turnava stated that the enterprise started functioning a few months ago with the help of the state and it is welcoming that the number of the employees was increased from 5 to 70 people. “Today we are in a Georgian enterprise that produces various medical protective garments, medical or surgical gowns, medical overalls – these are the products of extreme demand in Georgia in face of the fight against corona virus. These are the products that today, within the framework of the prevention of the spread of the corona virus, is very necessary for Georgia, Georgian business, people employed in the public sector – those who work in quarantine zones and have to me in contact with the individuals of high-risk. Therefore, we support the enterprise as much as we can since this is the enterprise, which started manufacturing only six months ago with only five people, but today over 70 people are employed here.

The most important thing is that the enterprise follows all the rules of safety and helps other businesses to equip themselves with the necessary products for safe work,” – Natia Turnava said.

Doctor Goods was established in September 2019 with the support of the Startup Georgia and the Partnership Fund. A few weeks ago, with the help of the Enterprise Georgia program, the TBC Bank issued a loan to the company to expand its production. In order to meet the increased demand, the company purchased additional 32 sewing machines with 60 000 GEL investment. Doctor Goods produces up to 10 000 medical gowns and 2 000 surgical overalls daily.
