Natia Turnava Held Online Meeting with Estonian Minister of Economy and Infrastructure

Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Natia Turnava held an online meeting with the Minister of Economy and Infrastructure of Estonia, Taavi Aas, where the priority directions of bilateral economic cooperation were discussed.

The meeting focused on cooperation in the field of transport and tourism. Natia Turnava informed her Estonian counterpart about Georgia’s readiness to open its own tourist market to international travelers on July 1 and offer them safe recreation.

Natia Turnava highlighted after the online meeting that Georgia responds very well to all security standards. According to the Minister, Georgia will be one of the first countries where tourists from the Baltic States, including Estonia, will come while our citizens will be able to visit Estonia.

“We have very active communication with the ministers of the European countries, especially those who oversee tourism and transport issues. As part of these talks, we reaffirmed what needs to be done to open our countries to tourists and visitors,” – the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development added.

Deputy Ministers, Genadi Arveladze and Akaki Saghirashvili, and the Ambassador of Georgia to Estonia, Archil Karaulashvili also attended the meeting.

It is noteworthy that Estonia has already published the criteria that the travelers from the EU countries, the UK and the Schengen stated. A person entering Estonia should be free from a two-week quarantine if that traveler is from the country where the number of cases of coronavirus infection has not exceeded 15 cases per 100 000 people within a fortnight.
