Memorandum on Establishment of Electronic Information Systems for Exchange of Freight Permits between Ukraine and Georgia Signed

It is planned to create electronic information systems on the procedure of exchange of international freight cargo permits between Ukraine and Georgia. The relevant Memorandum of Cooperation was signed by the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Guram Guramishvili and the First Deputy Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine, Dmitri Abramovich, who is in Georgia within the framework of the official visit of the Ukrainian delegation.

As Guram Guramishvili noted, as a result of the cooperation in the process of introduction of innovative digital technologies in road transport, the parties will be able to gradually transfer the existing permits and control system into the fully digital format.

“Prospects for road traffic with Ukraine are very important for our corridor, therefore, the signed Memorandum will contribute to the further development of road traffic and mutually beneficial economic cooperation between our countries,” – the Deputy Minister of Economy noted.

Guramishvili also highlighted that the improvement of connections on the Black Sea was also discussed during the meeting as well as the regular traffic of ferries and container vessels aiming at increasing of the number of flights and install additional new ferries in the Black Sea.
