The meeting focused on the challenges caused due to the COVID-19-pandemic in the industry and priority issues such as vaccination of the aviation sector employees, creation of an aviation strategy, development of an effective post-pandemic communication mechanism, opportunities for enhancing the public–private partnership and more. Moreover, it was noted that the aviation sector, which is one of the most affected areas as a result of the COVID-19-pandemic, is starting to actively revive, thus, some positive dynamics are observed in this regard.

After the meeting, the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili, said that a close cooperation, including the new areas, with the aviation sector, will continue intensively.

“It is welcome that the aviation sector itself notes the positive dynamics, which is reflected in the figures - 55% of the flights scheduled for 2019 have already been restored. Of course, we agreed to continue working closely with the private sector, considering the new areas, such as vaccination of aviation workers, development of an action plan and a strategy for the aviation industry, as well as promoting the relevant companies in order to strengthen the aviation sector in our country even faster and more sustainably, which, first of all, will contribute to the development of the transport and tourism field,” - Mariam Kvrivishvili stated.
