Levan Davitashvili Met with Business Representatives within Framework of New Life to Tskaltubo Project

Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili met the representatives of the business sector within the framework of the New Life of Tskaltubo project and introduced the development plan of the resort.

The meeting was held in an interactive mode and the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development provided business with comprehensive information about the project.

According to Levan Davitashvili, interest in Tskaltubo is quite large and its rehabilitation project will be successfully implemented.

“It is very important for us to restore Tskaltubo resort and bring it back to life. At today’s meeting, we provided business with full information about our vision regarding the development of Tskaltubo resort, as well as its potential. We had detail discussion with the participants of the meeting and received many interesting opinions and suggestions from the business,” – Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development stated after the meeting.

In total, 14 sanatoriums located in Tskaltubo, the value of which is approximately 50 million GEL, were put up for auction as part of the general plan for the restoration of the resort. In addition, private investment in the amount of 500 million GEL will be implemented in the resort.

According to the project, the state undertakes obligation to invest tens of millions of GEL in order to turn Tskaltubo into an international level spa resort.

The implementation of the Tskaltubo Large-scale Restoration Project will create over 3200 new jobs, a bed fund with more than 6000 places, attract an investment of 500 million GEL and significantly increase the number of visitors.

Minister of IDPs from Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Protection Zurab Azarashvili, First Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Ilia Begiashvili, Deputy Ministers of Economy and Sustainable Development Irakli Nadareishvili, Mariam Kvrivishvili, Nino Enukidze, State Representative in Imereti Region Zviad Shalamberidze, Head of the National Agency of State Property Giorgi Dugladze, Head of the Resorts Development Agency Sandro Onofrishvili, Head of the Spatial and Urban Development Agency Ioane Menabde, and representatives of about 40 large business companies also attended the meeting.
