First Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Romeo Mikautadze, within the framework of the "Abu Dhabi Sustainable Development Week" in the United Arab Emirates, held a working meeting with the Chief Executive Officer of MASDAR, Mohamed Jamel Al Ramahi. Director of the Georgian Energy Development Fund, Jabala Khmaladze also attended the meeting. MASDAR is a global leader in renewable energy and sustainable urban development and operates in 40 countries of the world.

Issues related to the further development of the Akhali Samgori Solar Power Plant – a joint project by the Georgian Energy Development Fund and MASDAR.

Design installed capacity of Akhali Samgori Solar Power Plant is 96 MW. This plant will help to reduce Georgia’s dependence on electricity imports and diversify local sources of electricity supply. In addition, new jobs will be created during the construction works as well as the operation of the plant.

Georgian delegation, under the leadership of the First Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Romeo Mikautadze, participated in the Abu Dhabi Sustainable Development Week. The main topics of the week were global cooperation to achieve sustainable development, technology, innovation and economic development.
