Georgia-EAU Joint Business Forum in Tbilisi

Joint Business Forum of Georgia and the United Arab Emirates was held in Tbilisi. Vice Prime Minister of Georgia, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili and Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, the Minister of State for Foreign Trade of the United Arab Emirates, addressed the participants of the event. In his speech, Levan Davitashvili talked about the successful trade and economic relations between Georgia and the United Arab Emirates and the prospects for further growth and development of the current dynamics in different sectors.

“Economic relations between our countries have been developing dynamically in recent years and 2022 was particularly successful - trade turnover exceeded 400 million USD. I think 2023 will be even much more intense. It is also very important for us to cooperate with the United Arab Emirates in the field of tourism. As for the investment perspective – since 2003, investments of 1 billion 100 million dollars have been made in Georgia. I am sure that in the future, the investment potential of Georgia will increase even more and we will see more investments from the United Arab Emirates. I hope that we will receive investments from the Emirates in such sectors as real estate, transport, infrastructure, production development,” – Vice Prime Minister noted.

Business sector of the United Arab Emirates participates in the forum with a representative delegation, Georgian business was also actively involved in its work – in addition to discussing important issues of trade and economic relations between the two countries, they had the opportunity to hold face-to-face meetings and conduct negotiations with potential partners at the Biltmore Hotel Tbilisi. It should be noted that the interest of the private sector of the United Arab Emirates in Georgia was demonstrated in such areas as agro sector, logistics, retail, etc.
