During the meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart, Vice Prime Minister noted that Azerbaijani business is successfully developing in Georgia, and direct foreign investments from Azerbaijan have always played an important role in the development of Georgia’s economy. Davitashvili also said that Georgia and Azerbaijan are successfully implementing transport and energy projects of global and regional importance, including Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline, Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline, Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, the Middle Corridor, the Black Sea Submarine Cable, TRACECA projects, etc. This cooperation significantly increases the role and attractiveness of our countries in the region.

“Our priority is further strengthening of strategic and economic relations with the Republic of Azerbaijan – one of the leading trade partners of Georgia. For example, according to the data of 2022, Azerbaijan is in the 4th place among the ten trade partner countries of Georgia, and according to the data of January-April 2023, Azerbaijan is the 3rd trade partner of our country. We have positive trade indicators, but I am sure that there is still potential for further development,” – Levan Davitashvili commented after the meeting with the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

“Georgian-Azerbaijani Business Forum is another example of our successful relationship and an additional platform for further deepening of economic and business ties between our countries,” – Levan Davitashvili stated.

Delegates participating in the Business Forum received detailed information about the business environment of Georgia and the achievements recorded in almost all fields of the economy. The importance of the implementation of the current joint projects, including the Black Sea Submarine Power Cable, which was signed by the governments of Georgia, Azerbaijan, Romania and Hungary in 2022, was especially emphasized.
