Levan Davitashvili Met with Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan

Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Levan Davitashvili held a meeting with the Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan, Begench Gochmollayev.

Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Genadi Arveladze, and Ambassador of Georgia to Turkmenistan, Konstantine Sabiashvili also attended the meeting.

The ministers discussed bilateral economic relations, emphasized the development of such priority areas as bilateral trade, transport, energy, information technologies, connectivity, tourism, etc.

The work of the intergovernmental economic commission for deepening cooperation between Georgia and Turkmenistan received a very positive evaluation. Next session will be held on June 6 in Tbilisi.

The importance of the development of relations between the business circles of the two countries as well as the importance of making investments from Turkmenistan in Georgia was especially emphasized.

Special attention was paid to cooperation in the fields of transport and railway, underlining the importance of attracting goods from Turkmenistan in the transport corridor passing through Georgia. The deepening of cooperation in the field of tourism was also covered during the conversation.
