Fourth Session of Georgia-Turkmenistan Economic Cooperation Intergovernmental Commission

Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili and Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan, Begench Gochmollayev signed the minutes of the session of the fourth intergovernmental economic commission between Georgia and Turkmenistan, in which the parties defined priority issues of economic cooperation including energy, transport, agriculture, etc.

“We pay special attention to cooperation in the field of transport – we are talking about increasing the volume of mineral fertilizers and oil products, which are transported to Georgia in the Middle Corridor from Turkmenistan. Specific plans for energy cooperation between the countries were also drawn up. During the current year, working groups from the two countries will work to reflect these agreements in certain results,” – Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili stated after signing the protocol of the session.

Interest in cooperation on the development of the digital corridor, as well as in the direction of tourism, bilateral trade and agriculture was also expressed by the parties.

Vice Prime Minister Levan Davitashvili invited the head of the Turkmenistan delegation to participate in the Tbilisi Silk Road Forum, which is to be held in October 2023. Davitashvili expressed hope that the delegation of Turkmenistan will be represented at the Forum at a high level.
