International expert, with over 40 years of experience in the top managerial positions in the oil and gas industry of Kazakhstan and the Eurasian region, Zhakyp Marabayev will provide consulting services to the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development in matters related to the oil sector for another year.

According to the contract, Zhakyp Marabayev assists the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development in developing the state oil strategy, managing relations with high-ranking investors in this field, and updating geological studies.

Zhakyp Marabayev is a professional manager who has led the most important energy projects in the Republic of Kazakhstan. He has also worked closely with the world’s largest energy companies both in Kazakhstan and abroad and has practical and extensive experience in managing joint ventures. Zhakyp Marabayev is also a Doctor of Economics and holds a Master's degree in mining.

Zhakyp Marabayev worked for two years in France, Great Britain and Africa within the framework of the TotalEnergies international program. During this period, he actively participated in making strategic decisions on commercial and technical issues, as well as in the management-staff training of the French Institute INSEAD and successfully graduated from the Executive MBA course of the French Institute of Petroleum (IFP).
