Today, on March 16, in Gudauri, the ski lift, accidentally stopped and reversed, which, according to the primary information, resulted in the injury of some of the citizens. The injured were immediately provided with the first aid in-situ and while those with relatively serious injuries were transported to Tbilisi by helicopters and ambulance.

The Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development immediately contacted the chairlifts manufacturing company of Doppelmayr. The company experts will immediately leave for Georgia and by tomorrow morning, they will be involved in the full investigation process of the incident in Gudauri.

The First Vice Prime Minister of Georgia, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Dimitry Kumsishvili is currently in Gudauri. According to the Minister, the corresponding agencies are in full mobilization and everything is being done to prevent any further complications of the health of the injured.

As declared by the First Vice Prime Minister, any guilt revealed in the incident will be strictly treated.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has launched an investigation into the incident.
